Omnium Gatherum is a five-piece melodic death metal band that comes from Finland and was founded in the autumn of 1996. Their style can best be described or compared to bands like Dark Tranquillity, Amon Amarth and/or Kalmah. After 14 years of hard work the band has just released their latest album called New World Shadows.
This record is the fifth album of this Finnish melodic death metal act and is the first album they released through Lifeforce Records. In general, the nine track containing album (which is around 50 minutes long), is well balanced and filled with lots of melody, progressive elements and brutal vocals.
Although its well balanced, well composed, well produced and has some highlights on it, it mostly stays “just” a moderate good album. Not bad, but nothing really special as it doesn’t have songs that really get stuck on you mind. But definitely worth giving it a try if you like melodic death metal.
