What’s better than one of the Cavalera brothers? That’s right, 2 of them. No, still no original Sepultura line up, but the dynamic brothers once again return once more to release their second album. If you haven’t heard about their collaboration ill give you a fast fill in. Igor (ex-Sepultura) and Max Cavalera (ex-Sepultura and Soulfly) teamed up with Marc Rizzo (Soulfly) and Joe Duplantier (Gojira) and made a highly anticipated groove/trash metal album. The record was welcomed with open arms by the press and metal fans alike.
3 years later, this dream team strikes back and strikes hard with their new album called “Blunt Force Trauma”. Another record that is highly anticipated and will be welcomed with open arms by everyone. Now the thing is, the album is everything what you would expect from a creation of Max (what can be a good thing but also could be bad thing). It has the typical winning killer combination; Marc’s insane shredding, Igor’s harcore/punk like drums, Max his typical harsh vocals, low tuned guitars, ……
Everything you love about it is there, but is does get harder to draw a line between Sepultura, Soulfly and Cavalera Conspiracy due to the fact that these bands almost sound the same now, especially when they like to switch between band songs whenever Max feels like it (probably because the audience expects to hear his classics). Its hard and cool music, but only die hard fans will notice the difference. Apart from that there isn’t a single thing that does harm to the overall of the album. Definitely worth listing as it probably is going to take another couple of years before we get a new record  from the brothers collaboration.
