Earache Records is a metal-oriented record company that has several bases like in the UK and the U.S.A. The label is mostly known for its more extreme metal bands as they helped to pioneer extreme metal by releasing many of the earliest grindcore and death metal records in the period 1988-1994. The label was founded and raised by Digby “Dig” Pearson.
And like most labels make a compilation album with their artists (like Nuclear Blast does a lot), so does Earache. The records is called New Noise Attack and counts 14 tracks all coming from bands (older and more recent bands) under the labels banner. The album has names on it like Enforcer, White Wizzard, Bonded By Blood, SSS, and many more and includes a number of previously unreleased tracks and some which have not previously been available on CD.
The album is divided in 3 pieces. First couple songs are the somewhat older heavy metal bands. Following in there footsteps are the more modern metal bands and the 3 piece is reserved for the labels (for witch it is mostly known) more extreme metal bands. This formula of going from “soft” to “heavier” is actually something I can only applaud to and compliment.
First of it’s les chaotic, second it’s a nice introduction for people who “like” metal but not the more extremer sub genres and as we can believe the label, this album will be less expensive than a regular one. The songs themselves …although there is lots of variety between them, I couldn’t find myself liking every song on the album. Maybe due to the genre of certain songs or perhaps not knowing certain bands. In the end that doesn’t really mater, because you certainly will find something you’ll like.
