Hell is a heavy metal band that formed in 1982 from the remains of UK metal bands “Race Against Time” and “Paralex”. But at that time the band knew little success, but the band stopped after their record label went broke followed by the tragic suicide of singer/guitarist, Dave Halliday in 1987. It wasn’t until a fan called Andy Sneap got the band back together a few years later, that they re-recorded 10 Hell classic songs from the 80’s.
So it has been over 20 years that most people had to wait for this record full of 80’s metal tracks. But to be honest that may not be the best thing ever. Don’t get me wrong, its not bad music, its rather very good, but the 80’s metal genre was great back in those days.
The record contains 11 old school metal tracks. Even tracks that even teach you about some British History like when the black death (the plague) invaded in 1665 and about a big fire a year later. So you get great music + a good education for your money. But there is a downside to this album. The thing that bothers me the most is the lack of consistency. The band uses several themes during the record (always a big fan of variation), but the themes they chose for this record don’t work that well together. For example you have an 16 hundreds sailor themed intro and 2 songs later you get a sinister dark moody intro for another song. In the end its definitely not a bad record, but it feels rushed and not finished, like they just putted everything in it to release something.

61/100
