Review : CD

America’s epic metal cult heroes have returned with their latest CD, Fear Of Infinity. In essence, this album continues along the same path as their previous Vast Ocean Lachrymose (released in 2009).
Though the band have been around for some time now, especially in metal years, Fear Of Infinity is solid proof that they still have what it takes, and are showing all the younger bands out there just how the big boys do it. This band basically stands alone in what they are doing. All the pride and glory is right here on this CD and it's quite impressive! Six solid tracks abound on this CD, and none more solid than the opening track, "Hour of reprisal". The song rips right from the iron gate with a razor sharp riff and rollicking drum intro. The keys are not as emphasized as they usually are in a lot of prog, but they do offer some texture and atmosphere to the music. I can’t say enough good things about this CD. While Heaven Wept take their influences and melt them into a classic yet fresh sound that stands apart from many of the other bands in the metal scene today. Fear of Infinty adds another fine chapter to the While Heaven Wept legacy.

While Heaven Wept have created yet another wonderful listening experience, and prove to everyone that creativity, true creativity, never fades. It's great to have a new While Heaven Wept CD to add to the collection as you can always count on Tom Philips and Co to deliver quality epic metal. I'll definitely be looking forward to the follow up
