Band: LOVE.MIGHT.KILL LOVE.MIGHT.KILL was founded in 2009 by drummer Michael Ehré (Firewind, Metalium and Uli Jon Roth). After touring all around the world with several bands and writing songs for even more well known bands, the man found that it was time for his own band for whom he would write his own material for. After a while Michael founded his fellow band mates in the Italian-singer Jan Manenti, Christian Stöver, Stefan Ellerhorst and Jogi Sweegers. And with this impressive line up, it didn’t take the band to long to write, record and release their debut-album called Brace For Impact. An album they themselves describe as a melodic/power metal record, but I would rather say that it can be placed under classic metal. When you listen to it, it becomes clear that the band has learned a metal lesson from bands like Dio, Judas Priest, Rainbow, any many others in that genre can by found and compared to on this record. The best way to describe this 13 song long album is to call it a grower. The first time I listened to it, I wasn’t really that impressed. But the more I listened to it, I started to like the elements they took from the bigger bands of this genre and I started to appreciate it more and more. But even with all that classic metal goodness, I still expected more from all these band members. Its like they all were holding back. Good album, but the next one will be much better. 89/100 Jeroen. |
