After the comeback of Asphyx a couple of years ago and the new album Death, The Brutal Way, we are treated with this Dutch death metal band’s live CD. The materials were recorded during a show in Germany, which can be considered quite a hood choice, taking into account the band’s German popularity. And that is clearly present on Live Death Doom. Band and fans sound excited as hell.
The sound on the cd is quite messy from time to time, but this only underlines the strength of the Music Asphyx brings to the stage. The set list is quite varied and extremely well built. Songs such as "Scorbutics" and "Eisenbahnmorser" are deliciously devastating death machines!
For those who are really interested, I would surely recommend to buy the dvd as well. You won’t just find the live concert, but also an exclusive documentary of the band’s past, present and future plans. As a conclusion I can say without any trace of shame that Asphyx once again proves to be one of the leading Dutch death metal bands!
