When you listen to this first single of Big Talk, you can immediately come up with three bands which are the main influences of Big Talk: The Killers, Weezer and The Strokes. The funny thing then is that band members of all these three bands have participated on creating this song and the upcoming album: the drummer is also the drummer of The Killers, former Weezer bassist has participated and The Strokes' producer also worked together with the guys of Big Talk.
Now, for the song itself, it definitely is very catchy and indeed, it could perfectly fit in on the next album of one of the three bands mentioned before. Because of its 'easy catchiness', I would prefer referring to Weezer. So, fans of Weezer, give Getaways a listen and get ready for the upcoming full length. You'll definitely like it!
