Karma To Burn are a highly appreciated band in Belgium. Every time they come over to our small country, they manage to set up one hell of a show with their stoner rock music. With V, they have the same intention. The title is far from original though. As a matter of fact, indeed, this is the band's fifth studio album, but what do we get for our money? Is this album really worth the listening?
I can reassure you. However the main focus has always been the instrumental parts, vocalist Daniel Davies does an impressive job again on V. On this album, we are even treated to a Black Sabbath cover, namely Never Say Die. This is well done, but the difference between the original song and this cover is so small, it's hard to find any true differences at all. This is quite a shame, but fortunately enough, the other songs are beyond impressive and prove to be pure and bone hard stoner rock songs. However, when we have a closer look at the evolution of the band's style, it becomes very clear that, with V, Karma To Burn have created their most accessible and melodic album so far, which is, according to me, an evolution that is only to be appreciated.
With V, Karma To Burn once again put themselves on the highway towards the top of stoner rock!

81/100
