Lost In Thought was formed in late 2007 when David Grey and Simon Pike went to search other musicians who had similar ideas like them, to compose and perform progressive tinged music with. Later on they found Greg Baker and Chris Billingham. But the line up was only completed after vocalist Nate Loosemore joined the band. After that they went out to record a demo EP early 2010.
The band incorporates lots of different of musical influences. Variated elements of progressive rock/metal, melodic metal-core and symphonic metal pass you by on this record. To create this sound the band uses large orchestrations, here and there some non western melodies, melodic guitars, keyboard unisons, lots of clean vocal melodies, variable time signatures and almost ballad sections.
So keep in mind that there is a lot going on with this record (either you like it or not). But to be honest this is one of the best debt albums I ever heard. This is totally not my genre of music, far from. But the songs are incredible in every way possible, be it sound wise or in the way the music is written and arranged. For people like this is take my hat of (if I would have one on).

93/100
