If the rumors are true, this should be the final installment for the Consortium Project.  The project, sprouting from the brain of Ian Parry more then 10 years ago.  As on all previous albums, Parry has some famous names in the genre performing on the album. I’ll name but a few :  Stephan Lill (Vanden Plas) on guitars, just like Veith Offenbâcher (Dawn Of Destiny) and Niels Vejlyt (Infinity Overture), whilst all drum parts were played by Casey Grillo (Kamelot).

I don’t think I need to introduce Ian Parry anymore. He’s been singing for some 25 years now.  Bands and/or projects he’ been in are Elegy, Ayreon,Vengeance along with numerous guest performances.
After a few tracks it becomes clear that this is probably the heaviest Consortium Project album of them all.  This is superb melodic metal.

The title of the album ‘Species’ refers to the aliens who are attacking our world, after meeting with mankind who decided to go into space, and met with the aliens.  As our weapons are no match for their more sophisticated technology, mankind is more or less eliminated.
Even with the addition of some extra female singers, to try to soften thins a bit up, the album still maintains its power throughout the 12 tracks.  A very good epilogue for this project.

85/100
