Evile is an English trash metal band from West Yorkshire. It began for them in the year 2000, when former school friends Ben Carter and Matt Drake found each other because of their mutual love for heavy metal and trash metal. So they formed a cover band named Metal Militia (primarily covering Metallica songs). Later on Matt's brother joined as the lead guitarist, only to be joined soon after by bassist Mike Alexander after responding to the band's advert in a local guitar store. And so the lineup was complete.
Unfortunately the line up has changed due to the fact that Mike passed away. Despite this great loss the band continued to go on with Joel Graham. Their next album called “Five Serpent’s Teeth” is almost in stores.
All I can say is hints of Slayer, hints of Exodus and hints of Testament! Don’t get me wrong this album (and especially this band) does have it’s own identity and own sound and style, but if you would like to compare it, those are the names that would pop up because they are the best of all those 3. And more of course. Certainly a must have for fans of trash metal. The only thing that does bother me are the vocals. These seem to be very similar on every track, not trying something new or different.
87/100
