Hillary Blaze was a US hard rock five-piece that was never well known. The group's lone 1977 LP was only issued locally on the 30 Century Fox label, and until this reissue from Vintage, a division of Rockadrome, the only way to hear the thing was to lay down hard cash for an original copy with the b/w ‘shroom cover.

The best songs on Exposure are “Electrizion”, “Razor baby” and “Metropolis”because they have a great vibe and emotion. For some reason the creepy atmosphere that these songs create, remind of Alice Cooper back in the 70´s. Great hooks and overall well written pieces of music. ”Teaser” is the most successful attempt to bridge 70´s rock with power glam without losing integrity and edge. The short solo sounds great and is an integrated part of the song. Works great. The glammy songs have a gritty, proto-punk edge, as if the group were heavily into The Stooges, The Sweet and the first New York Dolls album, and the theatrical vocals suggest a strong Bowie/T. Rex fixation as well. Fun stuff, no matter when it was recorded. Apparently the band split up soon thereafter; lord knows why, the lack of commercial success?
