Spidercrew is a hardcore punk band that hails straight out of Austria’s capital Vienna and was formed back in 1999. The band features members and ex-members of Only Attitude Counts and Bust The Chain. After recording a demo they quickly got signed by I SCREAM Records and released their first MCD “You Better Recognize” in 2001. Later on, the band gained a big crowd throughout whole Europe due to performing at lots of shows and festivals. Still growing as a band, they recorded their first album in 2003.
After a period of silence in 2009 and rumors of breaking up, the band returns stronger than ever in 2010, only to stand once stronger than ever with their latest album they released in may.
The best thing about this album is the way the combine their punk and hardcore elements. These 2 genres are no strangers to each other, but on this record they reach a new level of teamwork. Group chants and fist pumping riffs followed with some good old “oi oi old school punk moments” spread over 12 songs. It’s memorable and catchy although during certain songs you have the feeling that the vocals seem forced and the singer has trouble keeping it up. Still this is a must have for fans of bands like “Agnostic Front”, “Dicipline”, “Bulldog Courage” or anyone that enjoys this genre.
