Band: Roger Miret & The Disasters Roger Miret probably is one of the most well-know and charismatic front men in the punk/hardcore scene of today. He started out thirty years ago, originally as a bass player before taking over the lead vocals in NYHC-band Agnostic Front. And now, there’s the new and fourth album of his second band The Disasters. ‘Gotta Get Up Now’ has this really intense street-feel to it. It’s hard to describe the raw power that booms trough the speakers, so I suggest you just give it a go yourselves. The song themes are basically what street punk songs should be about. Fighting authority, standing up for your own rights, pride, unity. Just listen closely to songs like “Stand Up And Fight” or “The Enemy” and you’ll immediately know what I’m talking about. This album is rude and loud and Roger Miret means what he sings, that’s more than obvious! This record is the fourth studio album for the band and was produced by Roger Miret himself and Street Dogs-member Johnny Rioux, and although we mostly hear more of the same, the songs are built like a brick house and that’s what we expect from a band like The Disasters!
