Italy’s horror inspired extreme metal act STIGMA was Founded in 2000 by frontman and horror lover StefanoVladGhersi, The band began its conquest of the metal scene immediately; releasing two critically acclaimed EP’s and appearing at the Wacken Open Air and Metal Camp festivals. Unfortunately for the guys they didn’t got the attention they deserved.
So the band has its sights set on 2011 as a breakout year. This new EP can be the their ticket to their destination or at least a good step towards the right direction. Their new creation displays the bands skills to fuse melodic metal core guitar riffs with uncompromising breakdowns and lyrical themes deriving from horror and cult comic classics. For example during one of the songs you can hear Scorpion’s (mortal kombat video game character) voice saying: “come here”.
Its fun, melodic and brutal but with just the right balance and is about horror and apparently also videogames. This all creates a genre that I love and many will follow and fall for it. The downside to this gem is that its just an EP with only 4 tracks on it that keeps you longing for more.
