Amercican Kentucky quartet The Fervor have teamed up with “My Morning Jacket frontman” Yim Yames to release their second new full-length Arise, Great Warrior on his label, Removador Recordings & Solutions. The band can best be described as an alternative indie rock band.
With their latest release the band tries to create a certain dark atmosphere with their music and in one way the succeed in doing that. The songs due sound moody and melancholic. But to be honest I have my doubts about their songwriting talents.
Every song on this record start out as a song on its own, but halfway the song it turns in to something totally different with other rhythms, melodies… This can be interesting but when they do it on almost every song it’s just lame, especially when this band has a somewhat strange sound that already s chaotic on its own. In the end its not a bad record, its just a bit special and only for a certain crowd, but still I feel that this band still needs to grow and become better at what they do.
