Created by the giants who dwell on the fifth planet from the sun comes a rather bizarre recording.. I have to admit I don’t get it and I am not impressed by Giants On Jupiter. Their music is a meshy, progressive spacey mix of Mastodon, Faust, Strapping Young Lad, Mammatus, Sunno and Sabbath. These elements do not particularly go together very well and make for a miserable listening experience. The whole album has a very amateurish feel to it and it doesn't help that the production is very industrial, distorted and metallic. Though the songs have a very heavy and mostly slow, overpowering hypnotic feeling, there's some parts that got rather annoying, for instance the 4-track “Wake, March, Dance and Sleep of the Giants” (50 min) seem to have no real direction other than showcasing some bizarre warped guitar noises.

A pretty original sound, but one that I think will have a hard time finding an audience.
