Band : Silverdollar Three years after the release of Evil Never Sleeps, the Swedes of Silverdollar are back with some fantastic heavy metal on their new album: Morte. Don't be deceived by the title, because with this album, Silverdollar prove that the band is anything but dead. On Morte, we are treated to some innovative and highly creative metal combining hard rock, melodic metal, thrash metal and power metal. It's very interesting to see how Silverdollar evolved from a cover/tribute band in the late nineties to a grown up metal band. On the very first song on Morte, CO2, we get to meet the pounding metal machine that Silverdollar has become throughout the years. The songs start incredibly bombastically and are full of melody, gradually building up tension towards some heavy guitar riffs and drum rolls. It's been a while since hard rock could ever blow me away like this. Damage Done holds a perfect harmony between mind blowing vocals and some nice instrumental work. In addition, songs as Evil Never Sleeps, Hear Me, Raging Eyes and Rot are incredibly catchy and will stick to your mind for quite some time. This band might just be the perfect support band to bands as Motörhead or Iron Maiden. 95/100 Tim |
