SSS (also known as Short Sharp Shock) Is an English punk/trash hybrid band from Liverpool. The band came to live around may2055 when they released a six-track demo, a four-track EP year later and their debut album Short Sharp Shock not much later. But that’s not that strange considering its half a punk band that has more than 3 dozens songs of each 2 minutes.
In 2008 they released their second album “The Dividing Line”. In June 2011 they released their third album called “Problems to the Answer”, again with Earache Record with whom they now have a good steady relation.
Although I’m not a big fan of punk (with reason) I could actually enjoy this record. I found the reason of this fact in the trash parts that also is presented on this record. And if you’ll listen to this yourself, you’ll agree with me that this almost sounds like Slayer. Not just in style, but also in sounds and at some times It even sounds of Tom Araya himself is singing on this record. So yes this is truly enjoyable metal/punk for everyone who is sick of more typical and commercial.
They only thing that does bother me is the fact that they choose quantity over quality and have 25 really short songs on their record. Instead of making 13 kick ass songs, they choose to make 25 ok but not totally awesome songs.
81/100
