AC/DC is once again back, they were already a while ago with their latest album after years of “retirement”, but as Louis Armstrong once said: musicians don’t retire they stop when there's no more music in them. And apparently AC/DC wasn’t ready to give up just yet. Their history is actually quit simple the 2 brothers Young (the main core of the band) that came, saw and conquered the world of rock ‘n roll with big time anthems like “Highway To Hell”, “Whole Lotta Rosie” and “Thunderstruck” to name just a few. Those of you who still haven’t got a clue who or what I’m talking about, must have been born today or just had a lobotomy performed.
The band had been on tour for that latest album (called Black Ice). Unfortunately for a lot of people, concerts are sold out within minutes so the band brings out a live DVD from time to time. The same formula goes with this record and so “Live At River Plate” was born.
On this disc you get their live performance containing a well balanced combination of new and old songs so yes the veterans get their favorites and the new fans/kids get the tunes that got them into this band. Apart from that you get a documentary with comments and interviews of local fans, radio stations, the crew and of course the band.
Quality wise, you don’t have to worry, as one of the best bands, they were able to invest a lot of money into audio and visuals and everything is just top notch. Nothing to complain about, only praise and love. But due to this, small flaws are easier to get detected. And sooner or later you will notice that the guys their skills are a little less good than they used to be. Don’t get me wrong, for their age the guys still know how to play and give a damn good show, but father time eventually does catch up with everyone.
90/100
