Band : Borealis Borealis hail from Canada. This is their second album, folloing their first, independently released debut album ‘World Of Silence’. Sadly enough I haven’t been able to find a copy of their debut album as yet, so it’s impossible to say if they’ve improved or not, but this album sure is a stunner. I find it hard to describe their musical style, cause now it sounds more like power metal, but a bit further on it goes towards melodic metal, with even some progressive elements thrown in. But this mix works wonders. I’d say imagine a mix of Savatage, Evergrey and some Vanden Plas and you’re almost there. It’s a bit sad the album has only 9 tracks, all under 6 minutes, because this is real good stuff. If you’re into true metal, then this is an album you’d ought to buy. Not that is opens up new horizons, that’s not the case, but is good decent quality metal, that never bores you. 94/100 Erik Morren. |
