Review: CD
Greece is one of the strongest countries when it comes to the Underground. The Greek (underground) Black Metal scene consists of dozens of superior bands and projects – it was the case in the early years, and it still is the truth.
One of my favourite life-forms out there is Black’n’Roll machine Dodsferd. All former recordings (five full lengths, a couple of EPs and some split-material) were of a superb quality, which isn’t different this time either, of course.
The six songs on Spitting With Hatred The Insignificance Of Life last for almost an hour and do not differ from the former Moribund-releases. Diversified yet continuously hateful and vengeful, with a raw and primitive sound, interaction in tempo and melody, and permanently covered in bleak and intoxicating nihilism. Shifting in between suicidal, epic, mournful, psychotic and misanthropic atmospheres. Sometimes desolately funereal and icy grim, then again thrashin’ furious and possessed à la late eighties. Diverse indeed, yet with one constant: majesty!
