Wolf is an old school heavy metal band from Örebro, Sweden. The band was formed in 1995 at the hands of singer and rhythm guitar player Niklas Stålvind. In all those years of existence the band has since released five albums (not counting the demo’s and singles) and toured with various big names like Saxon, but also more modern bands like Trivium.
The bands mission was to make a certain kind of heavy metal. The band missed metal anthems like only Iron Maiden or Judas Priest could make. Definitely a statement that every metal head can make in this era where they just let everyone play an instrument and even record an album. So with this mission in mind the band went on this queste to bring joy to the masses. So the band would like to welcome you to "Legions Of Bastards", Wolf’s 6th album. The follow-up to 2009's Swedish Grammy nominated album "Ravenous".
The 11 song counting album is partly what they promise. Heavy metal like back in the days, no doubt about that. Power chords and epic long solos get thrown at you from every side. It has those typical elements and the band does sound original and not like a copy cat. But even with all their qualities and skills, it lacks that certain thing that separates the great from the awesome, although it is close with this one.
