Eden's Curse is a multi-national Melodic Metal group with its members spanning four countries and two continents. The band was formed in January 2006 by chief songwriter and Bassist, Scotsman Paul Logue (David Readman, Cry Havoc) and American singer Michael Eden. Later on the band was completed with German guitar virtuoso Thorsten Koehne (Code Of Perfection, Demon Drive, Attack) and English drummer Pete Newdeck (Steve Grimmett Band, Paul Dianno’s Killers, Lionsheart, The Shock), and German keyboard player Ferdy Doernberg (Axel Rudi Pell, Rough Silk, Therion, Taraxacum, Uli Jon Roth). So to keep things short, this is a band with lots of talent and experience.
Due to that talent and experience (and of course the popularity of the band members), the band rose to star status very quick and since than numerous concert’s tours and albums followed. And now (next month to be precise), the band will release it’s latest addition in the album section.
Their new brainchild from their combined forces is called Trinity. The album kicks of with a funny but epic intro (something you would expect in a movie). The intro is followed with a few very good songs, but somewhere in the middle of the album you have some ballads. At that point it is hard to stay focused on the record (although they are pretty good and the variety is very welcome). After those slower songs the record pick up the paste again till the end.
It is softer music, like a combination of John bon jovi en Mötley Crüe. A very good combination in my opinion. But unfortunately there are some gaps between the songs they forgot to tie together. Apart from that it is a very good album.
89/100
