Elevener is yet another band/project hailing from Sweden.  The first album ‘When Kaleidoscopes Collide’ was released in 2008, also on AOR Heaven.  Whereas the first album could more be called a project, consisting of only Johan Bergquist (who appeared on albums from Hammerfall and M.ILL.ION, and his childhood friend Andreas Brodén, this second album is more a band-effort. Indeed, cause Andreas Brodén had left due to other commitments, but instead Magnus Lindqvist came on board.  Next came drummer Anton Roos (Saffire) and as vocalist they asked Pierre Wensberg (Prisoner, Hearbreak Radio) and finally as bass player they asked Robert Garnold (also from Heartbreak Radio).  So form a two man project they now had become a full band.
Recording started in late 2010 with Martin Kronlund as producer.  The album itself is nothing extraordinary, it’s some decent AOR music, well performed, but not adding anything new to the genre.
Which means it’s not unpleasant to listen to, but once the record is finished you are not tempted to play it again, not even parts of it. So with no tracks that really get you going, this is almost the kind of music that’s called ‘elevator music’, tracks that please everybody, aren’t too hard or too fast.
