Could you believe that this guy, Tommy Reinxeed is only 23 years old ? And that the band already formed in 2002, so at that time he was only around 14. Quite unbelievable, if you hear what quality he can produce. And it’s even more unbelievable that in those few years they’ve been able to bring out 4 albums.
The type of music Reinxeed play is melodic power metal, with lost of symphony in it, and that played at a rather fast pace. I think if you’re a fan of Stratovarius, Rhapsody Of Fire, Firewind, to name but a few bands, you might like Reinxeed as well.
The album itself is some kind of concept album around the Titanic, hence the title 1912, since that’s the year the ship went down into the ocean after hitting an iceberg. But luckily there are no ballads on this album like –AARGh – Celine Dion’s song (each time I hear it I have to suppress the feeling that I’ve got to puke). On the other hand the album could have done with some variation. By which I mean that all songs are fast to very fast paced, Besides that the vocals could have been much better; It’s as if Tommy Reinxeed has a hard time keeping up with the pace of the music, but just when you think they should slow down a bit, it seems as if they were thinking now we have to go into overdrive.
So it’s not a bad album at all, but it could have done with some slower songs.
