Band : Gordon Fights Gordon Fights is a Swedish band of dedicated musicians who is given the freedom by one of the best labels around, Transubstans. They pull from influences as diverse as Lynyrd Skynyrd, Otis Redding, Stooges, Purple, Sonic Youth, QotSA and Jefferson Airplane and combines these threads of psych, soul, blues, southern and garage guitar rock into an unique style. They pull some great leads out of the tumultuous hat of their sound, and execute good build-ups. They are not out to blow your minds with wild prog/psychedelic explorations (aside from the Hendrixian -esque “The warrior”); they just want to bring some catchy, memorable new songs into the world.. Throughout this album GF switches between a lot of tempos and emotions creating an interesting experience for the listener. All in all, Gordon Fights is an essential purchase for followers of seventies psychedelic rock and for anyone who likes good music. 93/100 Cosmicmasseur. |
