Review: CD

Except for a demo-MCD/EP, done a couple of years ago, Dutch I Chaos haven’t been officially registrated internationally for eternity, musically seen, but every fan of True Death Metal Violence will bow his / her head as from now on. I Chaos did record a first full length and the world will notice: I Chaos will conquer!

The members are experienced (two of them did act with Cypher, for example) and their inborn craftsmanship shows when playing live. Yet in the studio they act like beasts as well. More specific: the superb Excess Studio – think: Arsebreed, Marche Funebre, Thanatos, Signs Of Darkness, Hail Of Bullets and many more. These forty minutes are massive, even though they completely lack of any originality. That might be the main, yet also the only negative remark – especially the USAmericianican scene is of influence – see further. But The Human Repellent really surprises, keeping in mind it isn’t but a debut full length. Oh yes, the variation between the songs, including the constantly kinetic (read: energetic) tempo might be a point of criticism as well…?... In many aspects I cannot but think about ‘old’ acts like Suffocation and Cannibal Corpse, or ‘younger’ combos in the vein of Lamb Of God and Through The Eyes Of The Dead, when talking about the American scene, or what about (earlier) Sinister, and maybe Aborted and Prostitute Disfigurement, to keep it into our Lowlands… Yes, I can mention a couple of Spanish or Czech bands in the very same vein as well, but I guess you got the bloody and thrashy picture?

Hip hip hurraaaarghhh!

80/100
