Band : The Devil Wears Prada Are you ready for some full blown metalcore with a Christian twitch? Back in the eighties we got familiar with white metal that had bands like Stryper how tried to get their views on how they looks at religion across to the metalheads. Today Stryper is still out their and still stand for what they believe in but musical wise they let go of the preaching and write some kick ass tunes. In the meanwhile a new generation of youngsters has done the same to get their point of view toward their believe out their through their music. But all more subtile than back than and we applaud that. If you don’t know what it’s all about you will stil be able to go bezerk on the new Devil Wears Prade records, already number 4. With Adam D of Killswitch Engage and Times Of Grace at the producers helm they created an impressive wall of sound that will leave you numb. The guitar duo Jeremy DePoyster and Chris Rubey are shredding like their lives depend on it and the rhythm section, that consist of bass player Andy Trick and woodsman Daniel Williams, are responsible for a never ending groove. On top of that the clean vocals of Jeremy go hand in hand with the tormented screams of Mike Hranica. If by than something’s still missing you can bet on electronic wizard James Baney to full that void with his keyboard, laptop or old fashion piano. If you wanna hear it yourself go and check "My Questions" where they completely loose their self of the more laid back instrumental track "Kansas". "Born to Loose" had been chosen as first single but these guys are all but losers. Super crushing record. 85/100 Stef Maes. |
