Band : Work Of Art The Swedish band Work Of Art released its debut album in 2008, shortly after releasing their first official demo in 2007. That does not mean that the origins of the band date back only to 2006 or 2007 or so, because two of the three band members knew each other, and put a band together way back in 1992, while attending the SOL School Of Music. With the release of their demo they got a lot of attention and soon secured a record deal with Frontiers Music. The type of music these guys play is definitely AOR with West Coast influences, which might not sound as a surprise, since one of the band members is Robert Sall, who did a fantastic job on the W.E.T. project with Jeff Scott Soto. On this album he handles guitars as well as keyboards. The songs are very agreeable on the ears. You can clearly hear their influences like Toto, Journey, Giant, so if you’re into these bands, and like your AOR/West Coast music, this might definitely be an album for you. Oh, and did I mention Lars Sâfsund on vocals, who delivers a stunning performance. If this album, like it’s title would suggest, is only work ‘In Process’, I wonder what the final effort could become. A real work of art probably. 90/100 Erik Morren. |
