Deconstruction and Ghost are most definitely two of the most anticipated albums of this year and finally, the wait is over. These two albums are released together as one and mark the final chapter of a wonderful project created by one of the greatest masterminds metal has even known: Devin Townsend. With Deconstruction and Ghost, he's back with some of the finest progressive metal dipped into a tasty folk/ambient rock flavour the world has ever seen.
Deconstruction, the first of the two, is one of the best metal albums I've heard this year. Here are just some adjectives that define it perfectly: straightforward, heavy, catchy, bombastic and most of all modern! Devin Townsend once again succeeded in wonderfully mixing modern metal with some sort of folk influences. A difficult job only for the real craftsmen. Simply lend your ears to the huge variation of songs we are treated with on Deconstruction and be amazed!
What can I say about the last part, the second album, Ghost? Actually I can say quite the same. It's powerful, bombastic, uncompromising and full of fun surprises. The only difference: Devin Townsend treats us with three extra songs. From the very first notes of Fly until the final notes of As You Were you'll be perplexed by the virtuosity of this metal master! Make sure to get this album before the world ends, for you will have missed out on something quite extraordinary!
