Dominanz was born from its successor (in  Norway). A project called Cult of Deception that was established in 2006 by Roy N. Mathisen. After a couple of years with composing, and the recordings of the demos “Purge my Pain” and “Infinity”, he found it natural to take his music to a higher level. In the fall of 2008 he joined forces with Frode Gaustad former drummer and Jørn Tunsberg.
Dominanz plays gloomy, atmospheric, industrialized metal. But there are also elements from genres such as Death and Black metal and even influences from the 80- Century heavy metal and 1990- and 2000 century electro. A combination these guys know how to work with.
Track after track, the band keeps up a consistent high level of music. Although it does lacks variations of sound and delivery and you’ll find yourself lost somewhere between tracks that sound all so very similar to each other. Each song on it’s own is Vocally and musically actually not that bad. Harsh (but with melodic touch) vocals are switched from time to time with smooth vocals or growls. But when you look at the bigger picture again, you’ll feel bumped about the lack of variation.

70/100
