Heaven’s Basement is a British hard rock-metal band that was formed in 2008. Since then Heaven's Basement have toured around Europe with various big bands like Bon Jovi, Papa Roach and various others. The band's first break came in May 2008 when their first demo got into the hands of Bon Jovi through a radio DJ, they were invited to open up a concert for Bon Jovi witch got them the chance to open up for an audience of around 50,000. Later that summer the band released their own self-titled E.P.
And the now this British guys have another E.P. out for their enthusiastic godfathers and fans. The disc is filled with 7 decent tracks (that count towards 26 minutes), but production wise it disappoints me. It sounds like it was specifically made to be commercial and this can be noticed in the general sound of the band.
Instead of being a hard rock/heavy metal band like they claim to be, I would say it can be placed under melodic nu-metal with even a touch of emo in it. Comparing this disc with their previous, it feels like they went wrong music wise, but on the other hand shows they have grown more mature.
It’s mainstream and very commercial. Something aimed for a younger kind of people. You either love it or hate it, and to be honest I don’t love this record, but it does make me want to wait for the next one they will release.
