Solitude Aeturnus is an American doom metal band that started out in the spring of1987 in Arlington, Texas. Back then they were known and played under the name “Solitude”. Their vocalist, Robert Lowe, is also the current singer for the influential doom metal band Candlemass.
However the band doesn’t stay to just one genre. Here and there you can find some progressive elements that although not strange to this genre, does work well. The band has released six albums so far and appeared on 9 compilations since 1991.
From what I can make of this, is that this is kind of a collector’s item. This album contains several demo’, rehearsal sessions and some live tracks. So anyone that was hoping for new tracks will be “disappointed” but will be happy with these tracks that weren’t available to the bigger audience. Unfortunately the production level of these tracks dates back from 1988. So you’ll either love the old school vibe or you’ll hate the sound.
This is certainly something for their fan base. However this could be interesting to others, who would be interested to hear something from back in the days.
