CD REVIEW Slash

Band : Slash
Album title : Slash – Deluxe Edition
Label : Roadrunner Records France
Distributor : Roadrunner Records France – Warner Music.
Release Date : 07/02/2011
Release : CD – DVD.

The original ‘Slash’ album was released in April 2010.  While we’re waiting for a new Slash album, to appetites our hunger, Roadrunner has released a deluxe edition, featuring not only some extra acoustic tracks on CD (3 in total), but they’ve also added a DVD.

After all those years I still think the guitar solo Slash plaid on  ‘November Rain’ makes me shiver, while at the same time it’s one of all times greatest rock songs, I lost sight of Slash a bit, only finding myself picking up a copy of the 2010 album, and being pleasantly surprised by it.  Him being a fantastic guitarist of course, but I was more than a bit skeptical about the vocalists.  However after a few spins this album pleased me more and more.

If you haven’t got the original 2010 version already, I’d recommend buying this one, be it alone for the acoustic version of the Guns’n’Roses classic ‘Sweet Child Of Mine ‘sung by none other then Alter Bridge’s vocalist Myles Kennedy, who, while maybe not being able to fully reach the higher notes like Axl Rose did, puts down an equally good, be it slightly different version.
