Root Jam is a nice live double disc that has a real live feel too it and doesn’t appear to be tampered with in the studio. The majority of the songs are ones that I'd pick if I was in charge of compiling the album. But even the ones that I would have replaced with something else bristle with an electricity, freshness and enthusiasm that raises each and every performance here above its studio counterparts. It starts with a Morricone-introduction that slides directly into the unreleased “The rat” with Sanya on vocals high up in the mix. Then it goes into “Waiting for the sun”, which has has an infectious sitar-riff and great chorus that sets the show off perfectly.  From then on this really is a master class on delivering quality. The raga, ethnic and 70s organ themes come out in "Bhimpalasi", “Rasayana” and “Reverberations”, which has some wonderful sitar, flute and jawdropping Shakti meets Deep Purple meets Captain Beyond-jams in it. This band and a couple of friends definitely know how to control their dynamics on stage. Listen to the twin guitar duel between KC and Maxi Dread of “Words”, simply breathtaking stuff. KC’s performance is of note cuz he delivers memorable solo after memorable solo. Behind the kit is drummer extraordinaire Lowe. His playing is flawless and extremely energetic. Not to be outdone by everyone else, bassist Sam Riffer just nails it on bass and keeps the steady groove and flowing rhythm going throughout the whole show.

IT CAN NOT GET BETTER THEN THIS!
