Foundation is a hardcore band with a brand new album called “When The Smoke Clears”. Although I’m not really found of this genre, I can say that the album is a solid, brutal hardcore record. The downside to this one is that it is just another hardcore band. When you look at the releases and re-releases of some classics just the last couple of months you’ll notice that the genre has been “resurrected” and once again proudly represented.
So the band jumps in the fray with this record and actually already lost before they could even win. I can’t really be the one to judge if their music is good or bad, certainly not when this one sounds just the same as any other hardcore band or record in my collection. But I can tell you that it is your average typical hardcore album but where there aren’t too many moments where the band dares to do something different or new.
It’s straight forward, in your face and brutal witch is a good thing, but certainly nothing spectacular or original in this genre.
59/100
