Harm is a Norwegian Thrash-metal band (or so they say) that was formed in 97 by singer/bass player Steffan Schulze. The man was accompanied by Tor Erik Andersen (guitar and vocals) and Lloyd Osestad (drums). They played together for a while and recorded an unofficial demo with their material. But things weren’t working out so some line up changes were made and Lloyed got replaced with Tov Aanonsen.

They recorded their first official single “Harm” in 2003 witch received good response both to the CD and live performance, so the band went out recording some new material and a demo was released in 2004. 2 years later fans could expect a new album and now again in 2011 fans will rejoice with yet another album after so long.

First of I have to mention that the band isn’t really a trash metal band although they self proclaim to be one. But as we all know, metal bands from Scandinavian countries are more brutal, darker and sinister than their counterparts from anywhere else in the world. Don’t get me wrong it has familiar trash structures, a couple of riffs and even a shred solo here and there that are typical trash metal. But this could easily be a death metal band and can be compared to bands like “Cannibal Corpse”. Not only sound wise, but also due to the technicality of the songs, marksmanship just oozes from every second on this record.

Due to this being a bit of a cross over makes this actually a very interesting album. The 2 genres on their own are very dominant these days and it feels like everyone that plays metal either plays trash metal or death. But the crossover here takes the best of both worlds.
