(review written by Erik - thank you!)

I have to admit I’ve never been an eager fan of Stoner rock, and this album isn’t going to convert me. Although it’s not 100 % stoner, as I also discern vague elements of other metal styles.

Not that it’s that bad an album, but it’s just not my cup of tea. There’s not enough melody in the music, and sometimes it’s a bit of a cacophony. And I like my vocals clean and sharp, which isn’t the case here.

Let’s give some background to this band. They’re Italian, and have been in existence for quite some years already, their first album dating back to 2012. Their second guitarist, Eric, left the band after 10 years, and immediately afterwards, they produced 5 new songs. The purpose was to release an album containing these 5 new songs, and 5 older, rearranged songs, but Covid slowed the process of realization.

It seems the band’s goal was to record an album that was as close to real life as possible, but without it being a real ‘live’ album. Hence everything was recorded live except for the vocals, the solo’s and some other stuff. Have they succeeded ? Well, I’m not sure. I find it a haphazardly collection of songs, with a lot of different sounds, but lacking a bit of cohesion.
