Edge, a new band, comes from Sweden, and brings us some fine AOR/Melodic rock. The band features no less than 3 musicians whom once also played in Shadowland – Jonas Forss, Tobias Andersson and finally Olle Rodehn, and it’s line-up is further completed by Torbjörn Brogren (Heads Or Tales). Special guest on the album is Tommy Denander who plays the guitar solo on one track.
Impera is one of those hard rock bands that has an incredible high potential when it comes to the music itself, but will know very little success on a long term. The reason is simple. It's a project with an incredibly talented guitarist, composer, producer, namely Mister Tommy Denander, who is far from the lazy metalhead. He's been doing so many projects these last years, it will almost be impossible to find Impera on tour in the near future. Which is of course a shame. However, never say never.
If you like a good dose of melodic hard rock, than this band might just be the thing you’re looking for. Composed of well versed musicians like Mikael Erlandsson (Last Autumn’s Dream, Salute) on vocals and keyboards, Perra Johnsson (Coldspell) on drums, and Martin Kronlund (Phenomena, Salute, Gypsy Rose) on guitars, this is a promising new band from Sweden.
Redline is a band that hails from Birmingham, UK, that judging upon its sound, seems to have it’s roots in NWOBHM. They were founded in 2006 and so far have released a few demos and one record- under own management. This is the archetype of music that in the eighties would have been highly popular. These days however I’m not quite sure. Yet it would be a shame if this band would go by unnoticed. They produce a cracking sound.
