The 9th Cell is more a one-man project than a real band, since almost everything on this record was written and played by David Pais, a Portuguese born guy, who has been active in the music business in the past, but this is his very first release on a record label.  He got the aid of some guests for some of the vocals though.

The style of music tends more toward progressive metal, but if you play the album enough times, you may find out that this is not your typical progressive metal.  This is rather complex music, and in some of the songs you hear some funky influences. The songs themselves have lyrics either in Portuguese, or in English.

Personally I didn’t really like this album, it’s all a bit too chaotic, and the vocals are mediocre.  With a total playing time exceeding one hour, and only nine songs on the album, you will already have guessed that the songs are all fairly long.
