Looking at the artwork and seeing the names of who’s playing in this band, or is it a project wasn’t exactly warning me about what a fantastic CD this would turn out to be.

The band consists of dUg Pinnick (Kin’s X), Thomas Pridgen (ex The Mars Volta) and finally Eric Gales (Eric Gales Band, Lauryn Hill). What they bring us is a mix of hard rock, progressive rock, blues, soul, funk and even psychedelic rock, thrown in a blender.  And I don’t know what it is, but despite being such a mish mash of styles, this thing works.  The songs are catchy, and give you a real punch in your stomach.  Mind you they’re not really ‘heavy’, but the concoction these three musicians have brewed is beyond expectation.

At times they make me think of Living Colour in their debut years, but where Living Colour only had a few songs that stayed in your mind, on this album each and every song is a real gem.  Despite not fitting in a specific rock genre, but overlapping several genres, I find this album fantastic, and will put it high in my list of ‘best 2013 albums’.
