Although I’d heard of this band before, it’s the first time I actually listened to one of their albums.

And I must admit I was surprised by it.  It has some grunge or post grunge elements in it,  but also some what I’d call nu-metal, and some trash as well.  I’d even dare to say, to the bewilderment of some maybe, that there are certain songs or part of songs where Seether seem to sound a bit like Linkin’Park. Over all it seems a bit of a gloomy album, yet the choruses sound almost radio friendly.  Whereas grunge was a genre I profoundly disliked, this sixt album by this band, that was founded in South Africa, was something different for me to listen to, something I’d normally never would have bought.

Despite having it’s origins in grunge, this album is far more metal than grunge.  One of the best songs for me, although being rather slower paced than the rest of the album is ‘Nobody Praying For Me’, but ‘Words As Weapons’ is also a very good song.  As a matter of fact you’d find it hard to find a bad song on the album.
