Throatruiner Records

Palecoal

I have to admit that I haven’t given enough attention to Nantes, France, based Throatruiner Records in the (recent) past. I did write some reviews for releases by e.g. Love Sex Machine, Protestant, Fange, Verdun, The Rodeo Idiot Engine or Vermin Womb, amongst others, but this label deserves more support for sure. Let this review be a next step within promotional spheres of mutual respect and awe.

Love Sex Machine

A quick one once again, but one I really wanted to come back to. But it does not matter if being ‘short’ or ‘quick’, for the focus lies on the elementary elements (haha, what a lapsus).

So, Love Sex Machine hail from the most Northern shores of France, and in 2012, if I’m not mistaken, they had a first untitled release going on. And now they will conquer more ‘space’ with Asexual Anger, an eight-tracker that goes on in the vein of, and goes further than its predecessor.

Protestant

Protestant from Milwaukee are a very productive entity within the Extreme Music scene. In less than a decade, they recorded and released hands full of EP’s, several splits (with the likes of Get Rad, Northless or Suffering Mind), and four full albums; most of the stuff, by the way, was done via Halo Of Flies (also based in Milwaukee), sometimes in collaboration with another label.

Vermin Womb

Vermin Womb is a new band, formed by Ethan Lee Mc Carthy, known from his activities in Primitive Man (the review on Scorn was updated on October 21st 2013), and formerly in e.g. Death Of Self, Salo, Clinging To The Trees Of A Forest Fire etc.

Elizabeth

Switzerland's Geneva based Elizabeth have been forging their way in the Hardcore scene since May 2009, and released their self-recorded 5-track Demo 2010 on a limited rotation of 150 cassette tapes, which the band sold out quite swiftly at the pomotional shows following the release in Nov. 2010..

Death Mercedes

One of the advantages of the growing use of Internet, include the fact that smaller labels, which before would never have had the financial means (mailing costs simply being too high, alongside to the fact that the copies sent would be lost for sales) to send you promotional copies of their releases. Nowadays, the music journalist is invited to make his/her acquaintance with bands which (s)he may otherwize only have come across by chance.
