Forgery

About 4 ½ years ago (posted 08/12/2009 to be precise, and therefore perfectly researchable in our “Archive” section), colleague Ivan reviewed this Oslo based Norwegian Thrash Metal act's full-length album Harbouring Hate, and while on the average I find his reviews to be quite informatively complete, some details were missing, and a possible mistake was made. So, putting the dots on the i, I'll repeat the band's history...

Dr. Living Dead

Dr. Living Dead were a part of a metal family, they’d be the child of Anthrax and Suicidal Tendencies, and the brothers of Gama Bomb and Lich King. I say this because the first bands I mentioned seem to be their direct influence from old school thrash metal. And the other two are the bands the perfectly fit in from the modern thrash metal scene.

Knight Fury

Knight Fury is not a normal band from the US, it’s a real super-group from Arizona. The members of this band are well established in the US-scene like Chris Sanders on guitars (ex- Lizzy Borden). Dave Ellefson on bass and Ken Mary on drums may be known to metal-fans as (former) musicians in bands like Megadeth and Alice Cooper.

Gaskin

I don't know what has happened to Gaskin.

An album like End of the World was a goodie, but all of the following albums had not been bad, but lacking power! At the roots, this is a classic NWOBHM-album, however, the heaviness has been downed a notch or two, and the vocals are in a clean, almost infantile Ozzy-ish vein. Depending on how you look at it, you could say it's AOR with a NWOBHM edge, or Heavy Metal with a scoop o' stinking cheese. The final outcome is a seemingly unfocused album that just doesn't gel.
