Razzmattazz is a band formed in the German South, but actually only one member was born in Germany, the other two members coming from the UK, being bass player Timothy Toing and finally drummer Matthew Sting coming from Canada.

The info accompanying the CD states their influences were manifold, with bands like AC/DC, Whitesnake, Accept, Judas Priest, Saxon and even ZZ Top being named.  Upon listening to the album I can discern influences from AC/DC, and even Krokus, as well as Whitesnake and ZZ Top, but it was only in song number 5 ‘Metalgod’ that I heard a faint echo of Accept, and as far as Judas Priest and Saxon are concerned, they must be very well hidden in the music Razzmattazz brings us.

As a matter of fact, the band they remind me most of must be DAD or as they were formerly called Disneyland After Dark.  This band brings us straight forward rock”n’roll, and the only weaker point may be the vocals, but’s that a personal opinion, and I’ll let anyone judge for himself.

Very nice album though, especially since it’s their first.
