Magnum

Magnum

Magnum is one of those dinosaurs, a band that seems to have existed forever and ever, and keeps on releasing new albums, although some of the members are close to the normal retiring age, and some, like vocalist Bob Catley have already passed the normal retiring age.

Magnum

I guess SPV/Steamhammer wanted to hop on the bandwagon, and make money by releasing this single as a Christmas release, and linking this to the commemoration of the Great War as well (That’s the First World War, for those of you who have just come out of a centuries long hibernation – just kidding of course).

Magnum

Magnum is a British progressice rock band founded in 1972 Birmingham, England. Yes from 1972 maybe your parents remember this band made more than thirty albums (Studio, Live and Compilation). The Current members are: Tony Clarkin from 1972 (guitars), Bob Catley from 1972 (vocals), Mark Stanway from 1980 (keyboards), Al Barrow from 2001(bass) and Harry James from 2001(drums).

Magnum

I had heard that a Magnum release was imminent, but hadn’t paid any further notice to it.  Wait and see was my motto.  I finally got a copy of the ‘new’ album about just a week before I was heading towards their gig in the Biebob.  But I was rather disappointed, since the album only contains 2 brand new tracks, and the other 10 tracks are old songs, all but two of whom have been partially been re-recorded.
