Senses Fail

Senses Fail is an American post-hardcore band from New Jersey witch was formed in 2002. The line up initially consisted of Buddy Nielsen, Dan Trapp, Dave Miller, Garrett Zablocki and James Gill. Shortly after being signed to Drive Thru Records, James Gill was kicked out of the band due to irreconcilable differences.

Q. Age

Q. Age (previously known as Quaad H.)   were founded in 1999 and took 11 years before their debut Songs For Your Lonely Island came out. Three years later, they are back with the follow-up Stop the Clocks. Don't expect overly playful progressive music, but rather some of the more grunge rock kind with electro beat influences which might as well be called indie rock.(vomit sounds by editor).

Pessimist

Pessimist were formed in 2006 and after some demonstrational recordings they debuted with Call To War in 2010 (Firefield Records). Since then, little things happened, but Pessimist started working on a new full length, which is about to be released through Germany’s MDD Records.

October Tide

October Tide were formed in 1995 by two members of Katatonia, Jonas Renske and Fredrik Norrman. Initially October Tide were meant to be a temporary Katatonia-side-project, and after two full length albums the project was put on hold.

Neal Morse

Fans of progressive rock, and especially fans of Neal Morse are really spoilt, especially when they buy the limited digipack, which includes not only 2 DVD’s, but also 3 CD’s.  For my review I had to to with the three CD’s only though, so I’ve got no idea how good the DVD’s are.

Mother Susurrus

Finnish Mother SusurrusMaahaavaa is a freightening combination of doom, sludge, drone, post and psych rock. From start to finish, the overall atmosphere and feel of the album is there: dark, angry and electrifying. The production on Maahhaavaa is dense and overwhelming, and I mean that in a good way, but still leaves room to breathe. There are 5 tracks herein, and 50 minutes total running time, so you know you're going to get some epically lengthy songs here.

Meuris

Stijn Meuris is perhaps best known for being the frontman of Belgian act Noordkaap, which existed from 1990 to the year 2000, leaving us 3 full-length albums (that 3rd one with an altered line-up after a hiatus) and two collaborations to movie soundtracks.

Locus Control

Founded in late 2005, Locus Control is another band from that small suburb village at the North-East of Kortrijk, Belgium. You may remember that Immanent Distance was from the same place...and although both band have a thing about progressive music, they still are quite different.

Kings Destroy

Kings Destroy is a new band with former members of Killing Time (famous NYHC band), Uppercut, Electric Frankenstein and Begotten and make pure sludgy riffrock inline with bands like Mos Generator, Spiritu , The Melvins, Goatsnake, Alice Donut and Sunnshine.

King Hiss

Short on the heels of the band's 3-tracked, self-titled debut EP release, this Belgian “Rock” quartet comes along with a new 7-track mini-album, again self-released. A review of the first EP, done by colleague Jeroen was posted 03/02/2013, and is obviously still available for your scrutiny. My review will however, grab back to the band's origins, as that was regrettably omitted.
