This Aarhus based Danish Metal act was founded in 2006, and as far as I know, they still have the original line-up except for singer Troels Pedersen (whom joined in 2010) and drummer Nikolaj Jensen (whom came into the fold in 2011)...the rest of the band consisting of guitarists Patrick McCaffrey & Anders Berg, bassist Kalle Herborg.

So far the band released 3 critically acclaimed EPs, starting with 2007's Early 2007. The song content consisting of material from the members' past Metal experiences, the EP was somewhat diverse and therefore hard to categorize, yet pleased the critics enough to warrant an average 6,5/10. The follow-up EP The Unbelievers came in 2008, and showed a quite different musical direction geared toward a more modern style, which at HeavyMetal.dk (which described the music as “real hard Post-Rock) got comparisons to the likes of Disturbed, Alter Bridge and The Mayfield Four, and was generally more than positively accepted by other media. Singe “Unglaublichen” was especially hailed, and also put on a covermount Metal Hammer compilation album. For the band, it was the beginning of actual touring, first national, then international.

Following the exchange of lead singer, the band worked on their last EP, 2010's Reset-Press-Play...and got generally positive critical responses with an average raring of 8/10. One reviewer apparently put the finger on the knot when he described the band's new EP's music as “...punchy, crisp Alternative Rock, flirting with Metal...”! Denmark's “biggest” music magazine Gaffa even selected the EP as their “Demo Of The Month” for March 2011. Following the exchange of drummer, the band not only toured the UK four times, but also got featured on several festivals (including Aalborg Metal Festival, Royal Metal Festival, and Midwinter Meltdown) with bigger bands such as Arch Enemy, Decapitated, Entombed, Evile, Mnemic, Decapitated and Suffocation, and this evidently helped in spreading the word on the band even more. Around that time, the band already had more than 100 concerts to its name, and they had developed a nice live show, which eventually also got the band onto 2011's annual Wacken Metal Battle (where they ended up 4th) and a week later they won Randersmesterskaberne I Rock (a Danish contest for up and coming bands). Along the way, the band was already writing new songs for their debut full-length...

...which they recorded during the Summer of 2012 with producer Jacob Bredahl (the former HateSphere singer has already produced material by the likes of The Burning, The Kandidate, Koldborn, and others), and the collaboration is said (not only in the info sheet we got along with the download promo copy of the album, but also in the label info and on the band's facebook page) to have intensified the band's material toward an even more aggressive and energetic direction, without for that matter diminishing the melodic side for which the band was already known. To enhance the album's potential as a music lover pleaser, the band continued to work with some of the best artists in the music business, hiring the great Tue Madsen (his name can be found on albums by some of the bigger bands in Metal, including The Haunted, Sick Of It All, Mnemic, and many more) to master the recordings, having photography done by Stefan Wessel and Morten Rygaard (see stuff on albums by Rammstein, Chris Cornell, Timberland, etc...) and having the graphic artwork done by Mircea Eftemie (Soilwork, Strapping Young Lad, Nevermore, Threat Signal, and more). The end product being an album which not only sounds great, but also eyes well!

To get an earful of Diamond Drive, you may wanna check the band's own website (www.) diamonddriveband.com. At the homepage you'll already find a video for the track “Down The Drain”, and in the “Media” section you'll find possibility not only to play two more songs off the new album, but also to view two older videos...oh wait, “Shadow Of A Ghost” is actually also off this album (it's actually one of the overall calmer songs)! The band also has pages on facebook and MySpace, but the first only sports one track already posted at their own website, and still being unable to log onto the second, I cannot tell you what you might find there, or not!
